Hotjar is a customer behavior analytics tool that provides the possibility to:
view customers' activity recorded as a video
view customers activity displayed as a heatmap
Dealfront provide detailed information about the customers based on their IP and other data
Both of the tools seem to be integrated via google tag manager, meaning you don't have to make any significant specific changes to the system.
Recent examples of the ways we used the products:
Hotjar - see recordings of the specific cases when customers searched for the information on our website, responded to other customers, and performed other activities
Dealfront - identify the users and the companies they belong to, in cases when they access and use the website without logging in; cross-check the information in other our analytics systems to understand potential gaps in the information we gather
Hotjar can be a significantly useful tool for debugging of specific cases customers face, while might be not very useful for API integration failures.
